During the week of October 29 - November 2 students are working on a 5-paragraph essay. It is due on Thursday, November 1. Students have been given a guide to follow and use in completing their final copy. Also reminded students about the importance of getting all work in or their marks will be affected.

Have collected work on the Friendly Letter and Personal narrative. Working now on paragraphs for this week and early the October 22nd week. Students need to make sure they have all work passed in.

Students are completing their project for Unit 1. The assignment consists of two activities. The first involves writing a friendly letter. They have a lot of options for this activity as long as they cover the basic elements of the friendly letter and have 3-4 paragraphs. The second activity involves writing a personal narrative. This has to be 500-700 words. It should focus on one key incident, involve one setting, a short time frame and have as few characters as possible. Students must hand both their first and final draft to see the corrections that have been made. Both activities must be handed in on Wednesday, October 10, 2007.
